Deep in the trenches of my mind there’s a bundle of nerves having party at my expense. I’ve been frantically tweaking with last minute changes to bring REFLECTIONS a fresh new look. Once again however, what I assumed might have been a fairly undemanding task has ended up being the exact opposite. Not to worry – it’s done now and I can breathe again.

For those who have an interest in OHS and were planning on attending the EXPO, I do hope to see you there tomorrow.

ADELAIDE SAFETY CONFERENCE & EXPO 2011 is called “Safety – It’s People” and is being held at the Adelaide Event and Exhibition Centre (Adelaide Showgrounds, Goodwood Road Wayville) in the RIDLEY PAVILION.

I will be giving my presentation at 2.50pm – 3.30pm (Goyder Mezzanine) for those of you that might be interested.

A WRITE-UP FROM THE EVENT ORGANISERS WEBSITE

The Safety Institute of Australia Ltd (SIA) is pleased to present ‘Safety – It’s People: Adelaide Conference and Expo 2011’. The first of its kind in South Australia, this one day event will be a collaboration of ideas and latest thinking in safety.

The SIA is Australia’s peak body for Occupational Heath & Safety professionals. With over 60 years experience and a national membership fast approaching, 4,000, the SIA aims to develop, maintain and promote a body of knowledge that defines professional practice in OHS.

We are committed to creating a profession that can deliver the highest standard of safety and we do this through the engagement of our individual members, corporate, strategic partners, governing bodies and key professional stakeholders.

A major feature of the event will be a Safety Conference entitled ‘Safety – It’s People’. A range of industry-related presentations will be provided over the course of the day and these will cover the following topics:

  • Community
  • Construction and Mining
  • Solutions

We will also hear an inspirational and motivational presentation from Darren Flanagan on his involvement in the Beaconsfield Mine rescue.

In addition, the attendees will have the opportunity to view a wide range of products and services on show at the Exhibition.
