Family Tribute to Stuart

Stuart’s life was cut short on the 14th December 2005 - aged 34 years.

Stuart was able to take up an apprenticeship at the end of year 11 and from that time onward, he became an extremely skilled carpenter.  

There was nothing he could not do when it came to working with timber, whether it be building kitchens with recycled jarrah bench tops, antique chests of drawers, sleigh beds, large entertainment units, exotic office designs...to a special toy car for his nephews.  The most memorable place that Stuart worked was at Middleton Mill Studios.  He he could produce one off pieces of furniture in the style of the master carpenters of yesteryear.

Stuart had a creative and ‘can do’ attitude, believing he could do and achieve anything.

His continuous thirst for knowledge led him to be anointed with the onerous sounding title of, ‘The Professor’ by his Mother.

Commitment and loyalty were important to Stuart.  He had a generous nature, always giving and doing for others.

Stuart had many and varied interests; gardening (a love of orchids), camping, mountain bike riding, breeding chickens to name a few.

Another significant presence in Stuart’s life was his constant companion, a Border Collie named Kalvien.

Stuart played basketball and at 6’ 4” he certainly had an advantage.  He coached a junior side in basketball and barracked for this favourite football team, Port Power.

‘Stu-balls’ to some ... ‘Stuey’ to his workmates ... ‘Munzie’ to his friends ... ‘The Professor’ to his Mum ... ‘Uncle Stuey’ to his nephews and ‘Bro’ to his partner Elizabeth.

He is sadly missed by his loving family always.
